HISTORY

Lars Boutrup was born on the 3rd of July 1961 in Copenhagen - Denmark.

The first public performance was together with a band called Blood Eagle back in 1979 at the Alleroed College, together with Mike Koch (ex. Harlot and now with the London based duo Rain Bubble Girl).

Lars Boutrup played in the band for a couple of years before leaving the band for teaming up with long time friends in a eksperimentel orchestra called Massa. They played a weird combination of punk and instrumental music, with sound effects and metalic percussion, surely a band with no musical limits in the underground scene of Copenhagen.

In the mid-eighties he formed a new band Simcess Off Celeberty, with vocalist Thomas Negrijn and guitar player Anders Tofft, later to be known as Simcess. The band enjoyed a huge success between 1985 -1992, made 2 great albums: Play With Your Life (1988) and The House (1990) and played huge festivals like the Roskilde Festival and the Midt-Fyns Festival along with venues in Sweden, the Netherlands and France.

After Simcess split up, Lars Boutrup joined the Slag Twins: Johnny Grauengaard (vocals) and Christian Springer (drums) and formed the group Sing-Sing. They made the album: Human Cannonball (1995) and their critically acclaimed cd The Black EP from September 1994, including the hit song Jennie, a song inspired by Marilyn Monroe. Sing-Sing played a melodic rock style with an emphasis on fine vocals performed by all band members. They even had their own great cannon to promote their touring, but the audience couldn´t see the point! Sing-Sing finally disbanded in 1996.

Then Lars Boutrup played a tour for Supernova in 96/97, an outstanding girl duo, to promote their second album Leave A Message. After the Supernova tour Lars Boutrup joined the band J.e.e.p. and toured with them to promote their début album Cracks, a wonderful band with great pop songs.
Finally Lars Boutrup made his own band called Big Bang, together with his old band mates from Simcess: Michael Miller( drums), Morten Loekken (bass), Spike Nior(drums) and Helge Hundahl, the guitarist from Sing-Sing. They have released 2 EP´s: Baby Blue (1998) and You´ve Gotta Move (2001) so far.

In 2004 Lars Boutrup performed on Evil Masquerade´s debut album Welcome To The Show featuring vocalist Henrik Brockmann (ex. Royal Hunt) a fascinating album, a great band, made the charts in Japan at #8 in the spring of 2004 and got some great reviews all over the world!

Apart from making rock and pop music, Lars Boutrup has played and composed to more than 175 hundred silent movies in Denmark and in Sweden.

In 2005 Lars Boutrup released his first instrumental keyboard album ”Lars Boutrup´s Music For Keyboards” which got great reveiws all over the world. On the album he got a helping hand from the great drummer Fredrik Sunesen (Sugarbeet).

In 2006 Lars started working with the female singerasong writer Juruda, which was later to become the start of the new rock group Juruda Music. The line up in Juruda Music is now: Juruda on vocals, Lars Boutrup (keyboards) Søren Dall (bass) Spike Nior (drums) the old drummer from Simcess - and finally the guitar player Jacob Rønne (Big Trouble). In October 2008 Juruda Music released their debut album ”The Magic Queen”.

In 2008 Lars also played the keyboards and organ on records with the Danish groups Slowdogs and Baby Electric.

In 2009 Lars recorded for his old friend from the J.E.E.P. days Gunnar Cleemann on his first solo album ”45 Minutes Mostly About Caring”.

2010 is starting with concerts with Juruda Music  and also recordings of the final notes to the next keyboard album ”The Symphonic Dream” with release later in 2010.
